Gregg, One thing you may want to try… Use a different type of drive. If you are trying to read a CD or DVD and have errors try a Blu-Ray drive. I recently ripped my entire collection of DVDs & Blu Rays (34 TB worth - ouch!) and had several DVDs with persistent errors. No matter how many times I tried to rip them with a superdrive they had errors. Popped them in a Blu-Ray drive and voila, success!
