Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think changing the drive in any of the iMacs
exposes you to any of the dangerous bits. IIRC it's just a matter of
pulling off the bottom plastic, the EMI shield, and un-plugging/unscrewing
the drive chassis to remove.

As far as sourcing a drive, you might try LEMswap and see if anyone has a
spare. I just junked a 400Mhz graphite a few weeks ago just before moving
but can't recall if I pulled the drive or not, or where on earth I would
have put it.
