Actually, don't be intimidated to open it up.

I was just inside one the other night and I only recall 6 screws to get
unside. The bottom plastic comes off easily, just be gentle.  From there
there are only 4 screws holding the hard drive cd/dvd romantic chassis in
place.

5-10 minutes and one good Phillips screwdriver is all you need!
