Hello Bill,
Without knowing what goes into the European/Asian types of Mac models, I
have always known of two types of batteries, the 3.6 lithium that you have
become familiar with, and the not-so-common 4.5v alkaline (looks like an AA
but a little squattier). The early Mac Pluses had them, and more recently,
models such as Performa 5400, 6400, PMac 6500, Quadra 630s, etc. I no not
the rhyme or reason as to what qualifies a Mac for the 4.5 alka (you know,
all models w/ IDE drives, or needing EDO RAM, etc.). The only other
exception I know of is the SE, which did not need/have a battery.
To Norbert, the latest ed. of GURU that I have is 2.9 - can't find it, I'll
send it to you offlist (and to anyone else). Does anyone know of later
versions?
