Mac Plus and earlier models had a 4.5V alkaline that is somewhere
between an AA and C in size.

A number of models have a roughly 1" cube 4.5V alkaline that plugs
into the motherboard on a short cable and uses velcro to attach it.
Most of these models are the kind where the processor board is on
removable tray that plugs into an internal connector that connects it
to power, drives and video. This includes most of the pre-iMac
all-in-ones.

The rest for the most part are the 3.6V lithium 1/2AA.

Powerbooks have their own types of PRAM batteries.
