An FPU probably wouldn't do much for average Finder window playing. It 
would mainly be good if you use multimedia apps like Photoshop and the like.

I"ve heard conflicting reports about whether it does any good for JPEG 
decompression, YMMV.

I certainly wouldn't spend the $60 or whatever on it, but if you find a 
cheap source you almost might as well. It won't hurt anything.

As for Macs shipping with them... can't tell you off hand. Several of the 
Mac II variants did, as well as a couple of the Powerbooks (and some of the 
Duos)
