That's funny, mine's running 8.1 quite happily ;) At any rate, every install of 7.5.3 I've installed includes Open Transport. Do a search for Network Software Selector and try switching it to Open Transport. 1.0.8 can't be too new for 7.5.3 as I use 1.1.2 on 7.1 all the time.
