For one thing you forgot to do the icon mask resource (ics#) too. But go 
to resexcellence.com to learn about hacking icons in the newer OS's. It's 
different but still easy. Do you have GraphicConverter?
Find SuperResedit (I use v2.9 which has never crashed here) via 
filesearching.com probably.
