actually, the scsi quantum's are amongst the most reliable hard drives
according to many (although i've heard bad things about their ide
drives), i've had several myself without any problems. it's awfully
unlikely that all 3 drives actually failed. can you tell us the model
numbers and size? try formatting one of them, or just reinstalling the
driver while running on the iici. if they are faster drives it's
possibly they didn't have enough cooling in the other machines which
can damage the electronics that drive the motor in a way that makes
them overheat rapidly afterwards which may be the case. i've used many
brands of drive and most are fairly good other than specific models,
most of the brands have some models that become famous junk while
having other drives that run forever. for example, seagate made great
drives at one time, then they made a number of worthless drives, now
however they seem to have figured things out and are doing at least
somewhat better (i don't own any of their newer drives, but i've got 2
of their older ones that are bullet proof).
