Exactly which model? Serial port modem, right?

US Robotics has in the past made some serial modems
that absolutely will not work on a Mac. I dunno
how they did it, but they did. I have a 33.6 external
USR that won't work on a Mac.

I used to have one of these BestData modems and it
worked very well. (Even on a PC. Nobody sells this
model as a "PC Modem" except possibly direct from
BestData.)

Then there is a v.92 version for the same price.
v.92 is supposed to allow uplink speeds above 33.6k
AND downlink up to 53k at the same time. v.90
is supposed to allow uplink up to 33.6k and downlink
up to 53k. (Of course your ISP must also have v.90
or v.92 equipment on its end.)
