i have a microsoft wired base station. it has the network, and the internet router built in. could i just connect the ethernet card to it and be able to access the internet? the reason i'd want to access the internet on it is, i cant transfer large files over floppy disks off the internet to my mac. right now i have a win98 se machine on the internet connected to that base station, and i use transmac to transfer stuff through the floppy. so is it just possible to get it on the internet? or is it not worth trying?
Yes.
Win 98SE or plain 98?
Basilisk2 is a mac emulator for your pc which lets the pc do appletalk so you can them move anything your heart desires from the pc to the mac. If you dont have internet connection sharing with your flavor of windows Basilisk2 and the ethernet card in the LCIII will make tranfering Much easier and more fun.
Its well worth trying, watch Asante ethernet cards as they can cause problems.
Good luck.
