Can someone clear up a mystery for me...

Someone i was talking to was trying to convince me
that all Macs with
external SCSI ports have 2 SCSI buses. The thing was
he based his
argument on the Q950 which is a bit of an exception
to most rules.

I was under the impression that, with a few possible
exceptions, all
68k MAcs were single bus.

Far as I know, except for the Quadra 900/950. Those Quadras also had an optional dual bus Fast SCSI II PDS card in their server models.

I meant on the board, disregarding the PDS expansion card.

I know all Power Mac 7/8/9x00 are dual bus. All the IDE based Performa-esque machines from the 630 - 6500 are all single bus (as they have IDE they only need 1 SCSI bus). I also know the LC 580 falls into that category. Nubus Powermacs are a bit of a grey area, I thought they were all single SCSI bus but others have told me that (at least) the 7100 is twin, which makes me think the 8100 probably is too. Dunno about the 6100, but the 9150 is for certain.

AFAIK all other 68k machines use a single SCSI bus that serves both the internal header and the external SCSI port. I just wondered if anyone had found that anything 68k other than the 900/950 had dual SCSI buses...
