All the advice you've been getting so far is good and accurate. There is, however, a way that you can literally make the computer ignore the current bootup device and go find a bootable system elsewhere: hold down the keys Command-Option-Delete-Shift as you reboot. If you have a second bootable device attached to your computer, try it now.

(Not a floppy though, floppies don't count. A bootable floppy disk already overrides all other bootable media. If your computer is floppy-bootable and there's a bootable floppy in the slot, it's gonna boot from it. To override THAT, you hold down the mouse button as you boot.)
