Have you considered running a FirstClass server on that IIci? You can have
your own bbs and controlled file access as this can run FC server 3.5.

Someone gave me an SE/30 a while back so I dug out some 16mb 30 pin chips
from a Quadra 950 and have it running 128 mb of memory. Newest system I
seem to be able to run is OS 7.5.5 but tcp/ip through our router at home
seems to be having similar problems to what you are experiencing. I'm also
using a linksys router(8 port) and put the server outside the dmz and
opened ports to that Mac. I have a feeling the problem is with the
tcp/ip-mac tcp control panels in 7.5.5 because I have no problems
accessing our FirstClass server running on OS 9.2 on a Umax clone on the
same network.

Anyhow if I peaked your curiosity you can pm me and I can give you more
info and perhaps even find someone on our network who no longer needs
their 3.5 server sw licenses and would be willing to give or sell them
real cheap.
