While D-VHS is better quality than DVD, it's not quite
_that_ sophisticated. ;) What's holding it back is the
TV and movie industry insiting on hobbling the tech
with
"secure" digital links between the player, monitor and
anything else digitally connected to the D-VHS deck
so that only "authorized" content may be recorded from
broadcast or copied at full quality.
