> Looking for an air conditioner that will fit into the vent cutout on my 65 > tradewind. (New or used) What size is best for a 24 ft airstream? John Last summer I went to my local RV dealer and bought a used Coleman Mach series for my Argosy 26'. It never had AC either, and after a call to the AS tech support dept, I was told exactly where the 110v wire was placed by measuring the drilling point from known interior points (it was NOT near an existing vent) and that I had to cut a hole. I was nervous, but once I confirmed the location of the wiring, I drilled a hole inside and proceeded with the metal shears. It went very smoothly. I located the AC very near one rib for support, and had to frame inbetween the layers of aluminum with wood and screws to make the opening more rigid (and flat), and ready for the big squeeze of the AC mounting hardware. Overall the job only took about 3 hours from start to final cleanup. The worst was drilling the first hole. Anyway, it works great and I can almost make it snow inside. Have fun!
