Volks,

Thanks to several of you who responded to my query about fixing a Bosch
voltage regulator in my '70 bug. I dug up a German owner's book and checked
out their wisdom about the task. They pretty much agree with y'all: "If
the voltage regulator is defective ... repair attempts are futile." (They
used the word "zwecklos," which kinda means "doomed to failure.")

I hate when this happens.

The replacement units I've found in the catalogs look nothing like my
original Bosch voltage regulator. Does anybody know a good source for an
original-lookalike?
