Thanks Ray! Yeah it's been a long while. Long gone are the days it seems
where the list was alive with multiple postings every day. I think a bunch of
us were abuzz with the new-found connectivity in the day and now I'm afraid we
have lapsed back into the realm of taking things for granted as well as just
keeping up with the day-to-day responsibilities of life.

I plan to post photos of our house project when we are actually living at the
place. I hired a guy with a quadcopter to come and take photos of our VW
line-up and it turned out pretty cool! I just want to make sure I'm actually
living at the place before I divulge the location and all.

As far as my original post about the 5 lug IRS set up - further research has
revealed that these are basically VW Thing drums. They were IRS with the
5-lug, but of course the minute you say VW Thing, the price quadruples. As it
is, I think I may consider a disc brake kit of some sort for the sole fact that
it doesn't need occasional adjustment. This is one area where I may drift away
from stock, just to minimize how much time I must spend doing maintenance.
It's just that wide-5 disc brake kits aren't cheap and yeah, they aren't stock.
When the time comes, I'll know which way I want to go. My wife is a very
conservative driver and I really doubt that the bug will be driven hard enough
to ever need an adjustment any way.

I hope your friend can be convinced to share his wisdom with us. Thank You for
your input.

TTYL!
