Ok, yes, but still a bit individual and slowish, though faster than flicking up to the trash button for each item. Having threads turned on will help as you can select the whole thread at once. The key button is Edit, keep going down tapping each to select it, then periodically, go to bottom and tap the Trash button to get rid of them. Don't try doing too much at once, one hiccup and you lose all the selection and have to start over.
In edit, I keep noticing a select all, but then can't find a useful thing to do with them once all marked. Maybe someone can help with that?
