My German wife deals with similar issues when she wants to use the apps for her TV programs over there by logging into the German ap store and then into my mother-in-laws account with a VPN on.
It otherwise wont’ work. Even with the VPN enabled. Odd because the trials for the apps were completely accessible for her with her own US ID, but once that was over, it was a no-go.
