On the contrary, I gave suggestions, through constructive criticism, on how
the message I replied to could have been made of more use to members. I may
have been rude and to the point, but I did note that the fact that an update
is available is of some use. But just to say that you are downloading it as
you write provides no useful detail, no findings on the update, or anything.
It's like sending a message that you have gotten up and are now fixing
breakfast. What is your point in sending this? Should we be made aware
that you are awake, you have a roof over your head, you have food, and you
are alive at the moment?

I think everything you say applies to your own message, if not more so.
I didn't have an alert pop up on my iPhone letting me know there was an
update yet, so I appreciated the information.
I've deleted more emails now complaining about people announcing they
were updating than there were emails from people updating. Furthermore,
the people sending out messages that they were updating could have been
excused for thinking they were passing along valuable information or
just getting caught up in their enthusiasm, but the message below is
from someone who's consciously choosing to pass along pointless
information and wasting the lists time, and doing it in a very rude and
disrespectful fashion.
IMHO, list moderation should be left to the list moderators, who
accomplish the same goal in a much more respectful manner. Otherwise,
complaints like this should be sent to the moderator off list, as they
ask for in the first line of the footer of every message sent to this list.

You're downloading? So what. I'd rather know that you have already
done so and that you find differences in performance, more or fewer
bugs, and other such information that has real value. You have just
wasted our time and space with your message that lacked any usable
information other than the fact that the new update is available, which
would have been known by any iDevice user, as the message was received
on that device.
