I know an app that I use for health and fitness has a bar code scanner with a
data base of over 5 million foods. I haven’t tried out the scanner but the rest
of the app is accessible with VoiceOver. The app is called

Depends on the package, some packages have QR code with such information in
tact. If not, KNFB Reader or Prismo or something similar will be the way to go.
