Kind of sucks that there are no alternative apps out there at a lower price
point. Thanks for your response. Also thanks for the info regarding the
ability to search the list archive for conversion instructions. Epub, here
I come.

Yes, search the list archives for converting to ePub, or Stanza and
Bookshare and you should find lots of information.

Richard,

I was just asking if there is a way to make another file type ePub. Gave
too much information! Being careful typing and not paying attention to what
I was writing. Sorry!

I'm not sure I know what you are asking.

My understanding is that all iBooks are ePub, but iBooks are protected so
you cannot change them if you down loaded the book using iBooks.

Talking about epub books, are all books from iBooks ePub? If not, will I
have to change them? I am going to read a book for bookshare in this format
and would like instructions on how to change it if necessary. Thanks!

Not that I'm aware of. the only real alternative is the same price and not
as easy to use.

If you want to jump through a bunch of hoops to say the $19.99 you could use
the XML file from the zip file and then use Stanza to create an ePub version
and read it in iBooks, or something else. You could even convert it to
simple .txt and read it in a number of apps.

If you are not familiar with Stanza, I'd search the archives of this group.
There are detailed instructions how to convert Bookshare books using Stanza.

Hello folks,

I'm just wondering if there are any alternatives to the Read2Go iOS app for
reading Bookshare content on my iPhone. $19.99 is a bit steep for an
applaud if there are any free or low-cost alternatives I can use, I would be
grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks,

Kevin
