Hi, The file on your computer will remain at the lossless format, but the version you get on your other devices will be the 256 KBPS AAC version. I am pretty sure that even if the content isn't in the iTunes store, the copy saved in iCloud and put on your other devices will also be 256 KBPS AAC.
