Hi all, I just want to make sure I know the best way to set up things when I get my new phone, so please bear with me while I describe what I want to achieve:
I have a phone already and this will continue to be used mainly in playing music, already transferred from my iTunes account. (Some of this had been copied from CD's and, although I do have copies elsewhere, I really want to ensure iTunes doesn't demolish my music source. I have lots of apps on my current phone, some of which I will want to transfer or at least have on my new phone and some I will not. In addition, I will want to get all of my music onto the new phone also and this will be the same music that is on the older one. I am thinking of doing this, as follows: First, I'll backup my current phone, if I can, using iTunes. When it comes to the new one, I'd rather set up as a new iPhone, ensure its name is different to the one I've been using, add it to the list of items I use that Apple needs to know about and then download those apps I want directly from the Store? Or is there a better way to achieve this without getting messed up with two different phones, one computer with iTunes and lots of apps to sort? When it comes to copying the music, using iTunes and my rather slow laptop, will I be safe if I've got different names for each of my phones, but they'll share the same account and music?
