I definitely second Sighard's recommendation of DropVox. It's the only app that I use now to record memos. It's super easy to use. I gave up using the stock voice memos app when I began to have issues syncing the memos via iTunes. There were memos that wouldn't sink, and I got a lot of duplicates as well. DropVox is easier to use, and I've never had a hastle with it at all.
