No, but you can easily read from bottom to top if you want to. Just touch the bottom left button, then swipe left once, and you're on the last message. No need to scroll anything. Then just keep moving left instead of right, and that should do it. I've never done this, as oldest to newest makes no sense to me, so there may be problems I don't know about. I'd also imagine it's different on an iPad, but the principle is the same.
