There are GPS apps for your iPhone which download maps to your phone and then won't require you tu use your data plan. Therefore, you can download the maps over wifi and never need to use your data plan.

Any GPS app for your iPhone will use data from your plan. Many other GPS apps will
not give you the detailed information your use to with Trekker such as type of street
crossing such as G Street crossing H street 4 way crossing. The GPS reciver in
iPhone is ok but no match for your Trekker. That all having been said, it never
hurts to have a backup GPS incase you forget to take Trekker along and find yourself
up the creek with out somebody else to paddle you out! <Grin>

Hi, all.

I usually use the Trekker Breeze as a GPS, but I'm interested in trying some of
the paid GPS apps like Blind Squared or the Seeing Eye GPS.

How do these apps manage data? For example, how much data would I use for a 45
minute walk around a semi residential/business neighborhood?

I have Verizon Wireless as my cell carrier in the U.S. I have a good plan as
far as minutes and texting is concerned, but only 500 mb of data each billing
cycle.

TIA

Lisa
