Hello Regina,

Question:
Will my phone switch to cellular when I am out of my home automatically?

Answer:
For all intent and purposes, yes. Keep in mind that just because you enable
the feature does not mean that the feature will be active at any given time.
The feature is only active should your cell signal degrade to the extent that
it cannot be used reliably.

Question:
Is the quality better?

Answer:
That, as with many things in life, is a matter of opinion and available local
technology. This feature is not intended to provide enhanced call quality, per
say, but to keep you connected in order to make and receive calls and text
messages.

Question:
Is my number the same for both cellular and wifi?

Answer:
Yes.

Good Luck and Enjoy,

Mark

I am with sprint, but I can take advantage of the wifi calling. A couple of
questions. Will my phone switch to cellular when I am out of my home
automatically? Is the quality better? Is my number the same for both cellular
and wifi? I started to go through the steps to do it, but I wimped out because
I have unlimited talk and did not figure out the answers to the foregoing
questions anywhere.

Hello Steve,

Some Android phones can also take advantage of WiFi calling.

I do not know about Windows based phone, however.

Hello Ray,

On which iPHone model did you attempt to activate WiFi calling?

Also, generally speaking of course, in which area of the USA do you reside?

I ask because, on the A T & T Wireless platform, you may only activate WiFi
calling on the iPhone 6 series or higher. Also, LTE cell service must be
available in your area.

Finally, you must have access to both the LTE signal and an active compatible
WiFi connection in order to enable the feature.

No, it is available in all areas and it is only subject right now to the six
and 6+ in 6S And 6+ S any phone below that it would not allow it to happen.
With AT&T only so far. This is a very disappointment, for a 5S users. I've been
contemplating on calling them in complaining.

Subject: An Update for A T & T Wireless Customers with an Unlimited Data Plan,
Regarding WiFi Calling

Hello My Fellow A T & T Wireless Unlimited Data Plan Subscribers,

I am delighted to report that, after paying a visit to my local A T & T
Wireless corporate store and after having concluded a 20 minute phone call with
A T & T Wireless technical billing support, I am comfortable stating that there
is absolutely no risk of voiding the unlimited data plan by enabling WiFi
calling.

When it's all said and done, the senior tech explained that, unlike the hotspot
service, WiFi calling does not require any line/account provisioning,
whatsoever. In fact, after having spoken to the people at A T & T, I now
realize that WiFi calling has absolutely nothing to do with the transmission of
data. Wifi calling only refers to voice calls and SMS messages. Be that as it
may, and I was clear to state this to all of those with whom I spoke, albeit
graciously, that I don't trust A T & T Wireless or any big company that
continues to be fined by the FCC for unfair practices designed to limit the
company's commitment to its customers who purchased service in good faith.

By the way, I learned that A T & T only throttles data to its unlimited data
plan customers when they reach 23GB in a billing cycle and then only at
peak/congested times of the day, on a per cell tower basis. That is to say,
that if a customer has reached the 23GB threshold and is having his/her data
throttled on cell tower A, because of high traffic congestion, if the customer
happens to move to cell tower B, and B is not congested, data wil not be
throttled.

The following is the text of an email I had A T & T Wireless email to me,
regarding WiFi calling:

Do charges apply for Wi-Fi Calling?
If you use Wi-Fi Calling to make or receive domestic calls from the U.S.,
Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands, there are no extra charges. Also, these
calls don't count against your voice plan usage limits. For international long
distance calls, international rates from your current rate plan or
international package apply.

If you use Wi-Fi Calling to send or receive domestic or international messages,
you'll be charged based on your current rate plan or international package.
These messages will also count against any usage limits.

Happy WiFi Calling To Us All,

Mark
