Hi, I use Seeing assistant light every morning when I get up to shut all
the lights my family leaves on. I think it was either free or extremely
cheap for the app. It detects light from other rooms even when I am not
close. I don't know what I would do without it. Andy and Shubert

You might be able to do it with Light Detector, but I'm not sure. That app
doesn't cost much, though; I think it's $.99, so it might be worth a try.
There are lights on my washing machine that are roughly half an inch apart,
and if I hold my phone close, I can tell which one is on.
