In regard to so-called personal assistants of all ilk, I would simply propose that if companies spend less time adding ridiculous witty / obnoxious comebacks to there products and simply make them more useful, then I am all for any PA that makes my life easier in a real and constructive way.
I.E. the feature that Siri used to have where it repeated my reminder back to me to confirm it, and then would allow me to change it if necessary, was great. Now, for the most part, I get no confirmation except Siri saying that it will remind me. If I need to edit the reminder, (which I almost always need to do in recent months) I then need to go through a number of steps in the Reminders app just to make a simple (or sometimes not so simple) text correction which could have easily been done verbally much, much more quickly. The point of a PA like Siri, is to be hands-free and to make these simple tasks well, simple! If one needs to spend more hands-on time and energy correcting what should have been done right in the first place, then honestly, what is the point? I have a friend who is a music producer who is extraordinarily busy, who uses Siri in the car. How is someone like this supposed to create hands-free reminders, respond to emails and texts when Siri is constantly getting these sorts of things wrong now, making it necessary to stop what one is doing to go hands-on to deal with the many mounting mistakes? This obviously gets into issues of dictation etc which I will not go into here, but suffice it to say that for my experience and others close to me, both Siri and dictation are suffering badly these days. I am not sure what most people use Siri for but personally, she is presumably supposed to be a productivity tool and the fun stuff should be sprinkled in on top. If I really want witty comebacks I can make up my own! ;) Lol! -Know what I mean? Anyway, just my thoughts and have a great day! Cheers! If people are already using Cortana on other devices, such as their PC, Mac or Android device, then using it on their IOS devices might make sense. Also, Cortana may just be better than Siri. Some people already think that Google Now is superior to Siri, so it's not unreasonable to think that something could be even better than Siri or Google Now. BTW, there are already those who think that Siri is frivolous, so of course Cortana will also get the same critics. Since Cortana is free, people can choose to install or not to install the app, and determine for themselves if they like Cortana better than Siri or not. For me, I'd like to see a side by side comparison of Cortana, Siri and Google Now, something based on fact and without any biases, and until then I'll decide whether I want to check out Cortana for myself or not.
