The Sonos Playbar only has a single optical audio in, it wouldn't solve your problem of not having enough HDMI connections. However, you can get small HDMI switches with anywhere from 2 to 5 or maybe even 6 HDMI inputs and one output for Around $20 to $50. I have one of these in my office as I have 2 PC's hooked up to 2 of the 3 inputs and from the single output I am going to the HDMI input on my monitor. The switch has a button where you can cycle between the inputs as well as a little remote. It's also supposed to auto-sense which device is sending a signal and that works most of the time, but not always in which case I just push the button on the remote for either input 1 or 2. I also read that often the auto sensing doesn't work with the Apple TV boxes, but like I said, most of these things come with a simple, easy-to-use remote to select the input you want and it's an easy way to add HDMI ports to a TV or a SoundBar which only has one or two. It also illiminates the need to switch ports on the TV which might be a good thing if the TV isn't accessible and you have to remember the sequence of buttons to push to switch inputs.

Hi, I have an Apple TV third Generation and it has audio description which I use on Netflix now and then. It also has a very nice YouTube channel. I would love to move up to the Apple TV 4th Generation. However, I have not reckoned as of yet how to best handle my sound since I would need to also upgrade my sound bar from the low quality Samsung sound bar which is on the HDTV and Apple TV 3 and has an optical connection. But will not handle an Apple TV 4 because I do not have enough HDMI connections for cable and Apple TV 4 on the sound bar. I am not prepared to make an investment as large as sonos monetarily speaking so not sure what accessible solution will allow me to update from the Apple TV 3 to a 4. However, as far as audio description is concerned the Apple TV third Gen has audio description and YouTube and I tend to use the YouTube more than Netflix because the channel is pretty good. Hope that helps' erv -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Saturday, March 5, 2016 2:37 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Which Apple TV Offers Audio Description? Mark, I am pretty sure descriptions were available on the third Gen, but definitely not on the second Gen. I also had a second Gen and of course not even Youtube was available anymore on it. I bought a fourth Gen when it came out and while I look forward to Bluetooth keyboard support which should be coming any day now I definitely haven't regretted the purchase. I guess one easy way to find out is to see if you have a Youtube app, if you do then you have a 3rd gen if not it's a second gen. -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of M. Taylor Sent: Saturday, February 20, 2016 11:35 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Which Apple TV Offers Audio Description? Hello All, I have an Apple TV second or maybe third generation. It is running version 6.2.1 of the TV OS. Question: Will it play the audio description of a movie? I explored all of the menus and was unable to locate any audio description toggle. I am interested in either purchasing or renting movies directly from the iTunes store, only. If I have to buy the latest version of Apple TV, I will, but I wanted to confirm that my current unit either will or will not play the audio description track. I have no plans to use Net Flicks.
