Well, Sieghard, since I use iTunes 11.4 a whole lot more than DropVox and since I have a DropVox workaround, I'll stick with iOS 8.3 a bit longer since I'm not quite prepared for the forced upgrade to iTunes 12.x required by iOS 9.x.
I'll more than likely be getting a iPhone 7 next February provided it still has a headphone jack so I might just piggyback up to iOS 10. I'm really not a software Luddite but I loathe an upgrade that doesn't let me continue doing what I've mastered with my existing group of apps unless that upgrade provides a benefit that outweighs any cost from lost features or time spent re-learning things. The button will say “Record” and then if you wait a moment (hints may have to be enabled for this) it will say “Paused at 7 seconds” (I just used that as an example, it will say whatever recording length your recording is when you pause it.
