OK, I am back with further to my question of yesterday. My computer and phone have lost all my contacts, not sure if this is related to hard disk failure and replacement.
However, my iPad, one of the original mini iPads has about 80% of my contacts, a few of the most recent are missing. I can access my recent calls, and my favorites on the phone. The iCloud on my phone has no contacts. Since the phone and iPad use the same iCloud address I don't understand, afraid to connect the iPad to the computer for fear I will lose all contacts. Easy to replace the missing ones from the past few months but redoing the whole group of them manually would be a pain. So, if I connect the iPad to the computer and do a backup, will I get the contacts from that to sync to my iPhone, or will it erase the iPad. Is there a way I can somehow import the contacts from the iPad to the iPhone? Before I do anything with the iPad I want to be sure I can preserve the contacts I have in it, and hope there is a way to transfer that to my iPhone and iCloud.
