I just paired my U2 with my iPhone and it works basically like you say. Are you sure you have blue tooth turned on in the U2? As soon as I hit pair on the phone I got a message asking me to enter a pin on the U2 and I entered the same one as on the iPhone which in my case was 0000. I’m not sure why you aren’t getting the pin message on your U2. You might try resetting the unit to see if it clears up the problem. Let me know if it works or not and I’ll try to help you further if I can.
