Alan,

Everything I've googled does support the idea that ITunes 12.x is
required, that's why the fact that my phone will sync is such a
mystery. Not that i'm complaining, of course!
I can connect my phone, it pops up in my sources list, and I can add
music to it, which is all i use itunes for.
Yeah, if I do call, the people at apple will probably hear the words
windows xp and start laughing. Well no, but everyone else says xp is
outdated, not secure, bla bla bla. It works just fine here, I have no
issues, I'll update when I'm good and ready.
Hopefully I can get this resolved, it's kind of annoying to have an
ipod and not be able to play music on it. I mean sure I could copy my
library to dropbox and use that app to play music, but that kind of
defeats the purpose, IMO.
