Radio1 is current kiddy pop, radio2 is baby-boomer pop, radio3 tend to be classical, and some purely verbal programming, radio4 is prodominently verbal output, whether serious discussion, down to game shows, comedy and stories/literature. Not sure about radio5, think it is a prodominently sport theme, but not one I listened to. Don't know about the rest, but it is a good enough mix to find something when another starts to pall.

For someone in the UK, could you help a US person who is not familiar with the various stations. We have radio one, youone extra, radio two, three, four, five, and six. Do they specialize in different things? There isn't any identifying information other than the station numbers.
