Hi Alan,
I have not bought the app yet, but in the manual it says, "Nearby Explorer can
search within approximately a 30-mile radius of your actual or virtual
position."

So it could be that it can't search farther away than that. Perhaps try
searching for the city, then set that as your virtual location, if that works,
then you could search for a place and add it as a favorite.
Good luck.
Richard

I apologize for posting this message here but I'm getting no response on my
posts to the Nearby Explorer for iOS email list.

As I understand Nearby Explorer, in order to simulate a location in virtual
mode, it has to be available in your app favorites or come up as a location
following a search. I'm trying to place a location in virtual mode to which
I'll be traveling later that is several hundred miles away from my current
location. The Nearby Explorer search results appear to be limited to locations
a maximum of 30 miles away. They also don't seem to interact with locations
already saved in one's contacts as searches using Blindsquare do.

Can someone please advise me how to access a location from within Nearby
Explorer that is located in a distant city so I can add it to my NE favorites?

Thanks in advance for your help.
