Got ya. Do you know if this is documented anywhere? I'd like to see what Apple says about this policy. I don't doubt anyone, I'm just curious what the Apple legalese says. I've searched for it, but I haven't come up with the right set of search terms and been able to find it.

sieghard,

I have noticed that people use their iPads for far fewer tasks than
iPhones. Many use iPads for games, videos, porno, and e-mail. These
tasks don't usually benefit from much faster processors.Kelly

Well I have a 6 bought in September 2014. Verizon, and, have problems
with dropped calls, keeping connected to network, they say I don't have
problems but I do and no one else does. Spent a total of about 8 hours
over two weeks on phone with Verizon and minor improvement in dropped
calls, and last week cousin called, went to voice mail instead of ringing
through and I was right here with phone on desk. May be time but
hopefully it will work enough for me to see what features are coming that
I may or may not want to use. Computer connection is only so-so also
despite Century Link telling me it is "perfect" as a cousin says all the
time. That word and OK are two I am growing rapidly tired of.

Hi Rose, what phone do you have? Which network are you on? Those bar
readings are not all that accurate. There is another way where you can
actually get the true signal reading. But of course, I don't remember what
it is, and it may very from carrier to carrier. If you have an older phone
with an older radio, and your visitors have newer phones, that may account
for the difference, or at least some of it.

Why are you saying people would be hopping mad if Apple came out with
an upgraded smaller form factor phone just six months after the SE
came out? Are you talking about the same people who get mad when
something goes on sale after they paid full price for it? I never got
this reasoning since this would mean the only way to make everyone
happy is to never put something on sale. I'd assume anyone who knows
Apple knows they release new phones in the fall, so I'd think anyone
who bought an SE would know that there would be a chance Apple might
include a smaller form factor phone in this fall's line up. I don't
think Apple would ever promise not to refresh a phone model any more
frequently than once a year. I also don't see what anyone who has an
SE would be missing out on if Apple upgraded the specs of the SE this
fall.

the past. Smile.

This may also depend on whether you want the larger screen, more than

not sure if Apple will have a newer SE version with the iphone 7 specs,
so if you want the smaller screen, the iphone SE might be a good
choice, should be interesting to see what Apple introduces though.

Hello Christine,

Were I you, given the situation as you have described it, this is to
say, you have access to an interim phone to use until the release of
iPhone 7, I would recommend that you wait until iPhone 7 is released
before using your upgrade privileges.

Is there any reason to wait a few weeks to use my upgrade toward
an iPhone 7, based on what is known? My iPHone 6 was brutally
victimized by a car backing up today, and I am now faced with using my
upgrade for an SE, or using my daughter’s old 5C until the iPHone 7
comes out. I don’t want the hassle of syncing two new phones in rather
quick succession, so I am trying to figure out whether to just get the
SE (I like the smaller screen), or wait and see with the iPHone 7.
From what I’m able to gather, the main features of interest involve
improved camera, which I do not care about, and unless there are any
amazing features or improvements, I figure I may as well wait for the
ten-year anniversary for Apple to wow me.

In short: 1. Take my daughter’s old 5C for a few weeks; or 2. Use my
upgrade, get the SE, and wait for next year because the 7 isn’t worth
wasting my upgrade or extra money.

TIA.
Christine
