If you would normally have both your cellular and wifi radios on, and you're turning off your cellular radio and using wifi calling then yes, you would save battery life.

If you'll still have both radios on and your just using wifi calling instead of your cellular connection then I don't think you'd save much battery life, but I'm not sure.
