To answer your question, there are several reasons why your messages keep re-appearing on various devices. The short answer, though you may not like it, is to simply switch email providers. Generally speaking, many of the commercial cable and phone providers offer email only as a courtesy. This means that they do not employ or support many of the more advanced features that so many of us now take for granted. I suggest that you change to either Apple, (iCloud.com); Microsoft, (Outlook.com); or Google, (gMail.com) for email services.
