What are y’all talking about? What good is Gmail app? I personally never bother Google accounts; I simply use my Gmail address for everything under Outlook 2013, which is the easiest! No big deal. Most gratifying is the possibility that the bug which prevented text editing of the body of a message may have been squashed, at least if the user is typing on the on-screen keyboard.
