There is an app in the app store called watch keypad which mimics a
dial pad on the Apple Watch. I am not sure how accessible it is, but
if you are interested in a keypad on the watch, then you may want to
try this out in the short term until one is implemented.
As for WiFi capability on the watch, there is no WiFi setting it
connects to the same access point that your phone is connected to when
they are paired to each other. I think that at this point, the watch
can connect to a 2 gigahertz network only and not the 5 gigahertz.
This was true of the series 1 and I am not sure whether this was
changed for the series2. As Anna mentioned, calls on other devices and
Wifi calling have to be turned on for you to receive or be able to
make calls when you are far away from your phone.
