Hi Daniel,

It would be great if you also were to send a message regarding this to Apple
Accessibility. I did receive a reply in which they asked if I had restored my
new/replacement iPhone from a backup and they recommended I restore it again
and set it up as a new phone. I just replied to them and told them that in fact
I set it up as a new phone and I did it right there at the Apple store since I
had also brought my laptop. I wanted to sync my apps across and also some
ringtones since this would be faster than having to redownload each app
separately and we all know that this is currently completely inaccessible with
iTunes and Jaws. So I brought my laptop to the Apple Store and then asked one
of their staff to go through my list of apps, I told him which ones I wanted,
he checked them all of and then did the sync.

I had also sent a separate message about the 'incoming call" announcement and
the reply I received was that this issue was currently being looked into by the
people in charge and I assume a fix for this will be forthcoming soon.

Lastly, anybody who wants to write to Apple accessibility regarding the
automatic switching, below is the subject line I used, maybe that will help
them to group these together:

Incorrect/unreliable automatic switching to speakerphone when placing a call

I wanted to mention too after I put the phone to my ear if you do it quick
enough you hear incoming call, kind of strange since it is an out going call.

Hi List,

I am wondering if others experience this annoying issue where when you dial a
call and it starts ringing in the earpiece you then place your phone against
your ear and as soon as the other party answers the call decides to switch to
speakerphone. You have to take the phone away from the ear, wait a second or
two and then put it back up to your face before it usually switches back to the
earpiece. Of course if you are in a public place this can be annoying since
usually the other party can't hear you right away and keeps asking what's going
on.

In my opinion this is not a hardware issue since this happened on my 6S Plus
which was just replaced under warranty and the new phone has the exact same
issue. This replacement phone was also set up as a new phone and was not
restored from a backup.

I seem to remember that this started happening when I started to use Ios 10 and
so far it continues to happen almost 100% of the time, from time to time I make
a call and it does not happen. At the same time if I start a call and then put
the phone to my face and take it away or put my hand over the top of the phone
and then take it away to trigger the audio to go to speakerphone, the call
usually reverts to the earpiece when somebody answers so the issues seems to go
both ways.

Best regards,

Sieghard
