Exactly once only. There is also a command for double tap and hold which seems to only work sporadically. Simply double tapping is space with dots 3 and 6. For a double table and hold it's space dots 3 and 6 plus 7 and 8 which are your backspace and enter keys. Now that command does not always work but you should be able to delete apps in the way Sieghard described once you double tap and hold. If you have more problems, email me offlist I will try to help.
