For Jonathan and other hearing-impaired folks on here, who might be able to shed some light on what I'm about to write: This morning I took the plunge and tried the Tom and Juan High-Quality voice and upon voice samples,, (thy're way too short to really get a grasp of the voice) didn't like the kind of robotic-sounding Compact voice, so I put the High-Quality ones. They worked great, but after several hours of using them, I found I wasn't able to understand some words, thinking that maybe my ears were having problems, or maybe the hearing aid battery getting low, but no. So frustrated was I getting that I was about to throw the towel and return to the legacy Samantha and Paulina voices. I thought I'll give the Compact voices a try, overall after a friend on Whatsapp, told me of a comment he'd heard that several hearing-impaired folks were also having frustrations with the iOS10's High-Quality voices; so I decided why not give them a chance before throwing the towl? And wow what a change! I'm able to clearly understand what the iPhone is saying! So now I have to stay, on my 5S, Tom English US, and Juan Mexican Spanish Compact voices. So I just wonder am I the only one who had these frustrations with the High-Quality iOS10 voices? With the earpods they worked great, but when having the phone normally at a distance without earpods, is when the fristrations started, but as I said before, with the Compact voices, a different world entirely! Looking forward to experiences.
