If you mean what looks like two speakers on the bottom of the phone -- even though they are made to look the same, one is actually a microphone, and the other is a speaker. I had exactly the same question when I first got my iPhone 4S last year -- I thought they were both speakers, and one wasn't working. I did a bunch of treasure-hunting on Google, trying to figure out what was wrong, until I hit on the right search combo and realized that the phone was OK after all. Thank goodness. (Grin)
