Around here in Boulder, Colorado area, people typically love dogs, so I have had no issues with Uber or Lyft. My new guide dog is small so she fits on the floor, but my last dog was large. I took a lightweight sheet that I could cover the seat next to me with, which drivers seemed to appreciate. I have not travelled in rain or snow yet, when the dog would presumably be wet.
When I travelled to Los Angeles and needed rides to and from the airport there, I called the driver once he was assigned to me and let him know, largely because the driver's names looked Middle Eastern and I was honestly more concerned about a Muslim driver claiming he couldn't take us.
