I had the same problem except my phone never did come back. While iTunes told me that my os had been updated and that it could find the device, I had no speech. I had to restore my phone from a back-up to restore order. All is working perfectly now except my apps are all on different pages. I will need to figure out under IOS 6 how to put apps in folders, a task that has eluded me under previous operating systems. Thanks.
