Hello Terri,

You can setup iCloud mail on almost any Windows mail client.

For example, I can access my iCloud mail from a Windows 7 PC running Microsoft
Outlook 2007. Further, I have a friend that's is using Outlook 2003, on her
Windows 7 PC, to access her iCloud email.

In order to do this, you only need to know the correct iCloud server settings
that are required. There are several ways to get this information. The
quickest and easiest way is to perform a google search. Another way is to log
into your iCloud.com account, via the web, and go to the settings area.

I performed a quick Google search for you and located the following information
that should get you started:

[[BEGIN]
How to Manually Set Up iCloud Mail in Windows, Android and BlackBerry

1.Launch the Mail app of your choice.
2.Add a new account.
3.Enter the following IMAP server name: imap.mail.me.com. (incoming)
4.Enter the following SMTP server name: smtp.mail.me.com. (outgoing)
5.Toggle SSL encryption to On or Yes.
6.Set the port to 993.
[END]

Finally, keep in mind that this will only allow you to send and receive emails.
It will not give you access to your iCloud Contacts, Reminders, etc.

Good Luck,

Mark

Subject: Have an email question, regarding iCloud accounts

Hello everyone,

As my subject says, I have a question, regarding iCloud, email accounts.

First of all, can you only use the native mail App on your phone, or Mac, to
view an iCloud account?

Or do you have other options?

I have an older mac a friend was kind enough to give me, for Christmas.
I am learning it, but the process is quite slow. Though I am enjoying it.

But for now, I still use my windows 7 laptop, a lot!

I don't mind every once in a while viewing mail on my phone. But this is
something I prefer to do, only if I really have to do so. Just a personal
choice.

So I have had an iCloud account for some time now. I never use it though, and I
would like too.

Right now, as you can tell, I have an Outlook address. I like it a lot.

But I am having a lot of email issues lately. Sometimes my messages hang, when
I try to send them. Sometimes they seem to go through, just fine. Either way,
there are times people, or email lists I am on, never receive my emails. I
never quite know for sure, when this might happen.
And if the messages do hang, for some reason, I can't seem to always save them
as drafts.

Needless to say, I really believe it is the email client I am using, which is
Thunderbyrd. I used to really like it. I had some small issues with it, every
now and then. But even though they would frustrate me, I could deal with them.
But now things have gotten much worse, and I am rather annoyed!

I would use something else. But I don't know what else is out there. And I have
attempted to look.

So I do want to use my iCloud account on my windows laptop, if at all
possible.

Do any of you have any ideas how I could make this happen?

Thank you,

Terri
